5 Tips for Writing Your Bridesmaid Wedding Speech

It doesn’t matter if you are the bridesmaid or maid of honor, if you have to write a speech it can be really hard at times. That is why I now have gathered these 5 golden tips for you, so you can have it a lot easier when writing your bridesmaid wedding speech. These tips should give you a good idea about what to put in your wedding toast, to make the bride, groom and everybody else at the wedding happy.

Tip 1: Starting on your speech
Now you have to remember, that even though you might be a close friend or in family with the bride and groom, chances are that not all the guests at the wedding will know who you are. So start by making an announcement with who you are, and your relation to the bride. This is a very good way to start your speech, so everybody knows who you are.

Tip 2: Be careful with humor
Humor is an excellent idea to use in your toast, but be careful. Don’t over-do it and be careful not to embarrass or humiliate the bride, groom or other guests. Make a few jokes, but keep it sober for the kids, grandparents and other guests at the wedding.

Tip 3: Compliment the groom
Make sure that you have compliments enough for the groom in your speech. You might notice that the best man will always compliment the bride; do the favor and compliment the groom, make sure you say some nice things about him.

Tip 4: Be the bride’s spokeswomen
When you make your bridesmaid wedding toast, remember that it is the brides big day; she will probably only have one day like this in her life, so make sure to communicate to the guests how lucky she is, and hopefully, how happy she is on her big day. Again, it would be a good idea to put some nice things and stories about the groom and bride in your wedding speech.

Tip 5: Be a bit nostalgic
This is truly a killer-tip; be nostalgic in your speech. This is what moves people, and if you can find a funny childhood story, or some funny and cozy story from the beginning of the relationship between the newly-weds, this will be a big hit in your speech.
